Ontem teve lugar a segunda Recepção de Ano Novo, que contou com a presença da Rainha Margrethe II acompanhada pelos herdeiros, o Príncipe Frederik e a Princesa Mary da Dinamarca.

Na realidade este dia de Recepções de Ano Novo é dividido em duas partes: as primeiras recepções do dia têm lugar no Palácio Christian VII em Amalienborg. A Rainha e o casal herdeiro recebem os Juízes do Supremo Tribunal e, de seguida, recebem a Guarda Real bem como Oficiais dos vários Regimentos.
In true the first day of New Year Receptions is divided in two parts: the first two receptions of the day take place at the Christian Palace VII in Amalienborg. The Queen and the Crown couple receive the Judges of the Supreme Court and then receive the Royal Guard as well as Officers of the several Regiments.

Na última recepção do dia, os membros da família real dinamarquesa, saúdam os membros do Corpo Diplomático a trabalhar na Dinamarca no Palácio de Christianborg. Esta é sempre uma recepção muito colorida, dado que os responsáveis por manter a diplomacia entre a Dinamarca e os seus países usam sempre trajes tradicionais para cumprimentar a monarca e desejar-lhe um Feliz Ano Novo.
At the final reception of the day, the members of the Danish royal family greet members of the Diplomatic Corps working in Denmark, at Christianborg Palace. This is always a very colorful reception as those responsible for maintaining diplomacy between Denmark and their countries always wear traditional costumes to greet the monarch and wish her a Happy New Year.
Todos os anos oiço os mesmos comentários por parte de leitores e admiradores da realeza: "A Rainha Margrethe usa sempre o mesmo vestido!". Sim usa. E qual é o problema, exactamente?

Every year I hear the same comments from readers and royal watchers: "Queen Margrethe always wears the same dress!" Yes, she does. And where is the problem, exactly?

H.M. Dronningen og Kronprinsparret holder netop nu kur for diplomatiet i De Kongelige Repræsentationslokaler på Christiansborg Slot. I Riddersalen vil Dronningen og Kronprinsparret ankomme til en fanfare. Efterfølgende holder doyenen for corps diplomatique (den diplomat, der har fungeret længst i Danmark) en kort tale med nytårsgratulationer og efterfølgende returnerer Dronningen med en kort tale på fransk og engelsk. Til slut vil diplomaterne og deres ægtefæller efter opråb fra Udenrigsministeriets protokolchef én for én hilse på Dronningen og Kronprinsparret.

Mary parece estar a seguir o exemplo da sogra e com algumas alterações ou trocas ao longo dos anos, a Princesa da Coroa da Dinamarca lá se vai mantendo fiel a uma mão cheia de modelos. Este ano a Princesa voltou a usar o conjunto ameixa estreado o ano passado.
Mary seems to be following the example of her mother-in-law and with some changes or mixes over the years, the danish Crown Princessis staying faithful to a hand full of models. This year the Princess returned to use the plum set first worn last year.

Á chegada Mary usou uma capa sobre o vestido, e durante a recepção observámos com mais atenção o simples e elegante vestido que Mary completou com jóias discretas, as insígnias da Ordem do Elefante e Ordem da Família e um par de luvas brancas. O cabelo estava semi-apanhado e é quase certo que amanhã estará integralmente apanhado.
Upon arrival Mary wore a cloak over the dress, and during the reception we were able to see more closely the simple and elegant dress Mary completed with discreet jewelry, the insignia of the Order of the Elephant and Order of the Family and a pair of white gloves. The hair was half up, half down and it is almost certain that tomorrow she will show with an updo hairstyle.
