Last Tuesday, Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway attended the opening of the 20th edition of the Kristiansand International Children's Film Festival (Barnerfilmfestivalen). This is Norway's largest film event for children and young people and takes place this year from 25-30 April.

During the event, films from around the world are shown. The organizers were very happy for the opening film this year to be Norwegian. "Richard Storken" tells the story of a sparrow - Richard - who thinks he is a stork. Richard, an orphan, was adopted by a family of storks and so he believes he is one of them. The big problem arises when, with the arrival of the cold, his family has to migrate to warmer lands and leave Richard behind because he would never survive the long journey. But Richard does not give up and with the help of several friends he starts a journey through Europe on board several transports to find his family.
