Foi a quarta visita da Princesa do Mónaco à Santa Sé. Charlene já tinha tido uma audiência com Papa Bento XVI em 2013 e, no mesmo ano compareceu à missa de inauguração do Papa Francisco. Recentemente a Princesa também esteve no Vaticano onde foi entrevistada pela Radio Vaticano.

Albert, que possui uma quinta em Roc Agel, ofereceu ao Sumo Pontífice cestos com frutas e vegetais e um cesto com queijo e também ofereceu uma edição especial, impressa no Principado, de uma encíclica papal que destaca o dever das pessoas em salvar o ambiente na Terra. Recordo que o Príncipe Albert está muito ligado, através da Fundação Prince Albert II, na protecção do meio ambiente e no desenvolvimento sustentável.

Charlene esteve bastante elegante num conjunto invernal que completou com uma mantilha de renda na cabeça, e acessórios beges. O baton vermelho deu um toque de cor ao conjunto.

Charlene was very elegant in a winter set that completed with a lace mantilla on her head, and beige accessories. The red lipstick gave a touch of color to the set.

Mas para mim, representa muito mais. Os valores desta religião tocam-me profundamente e correspondem perfeitamente ao meu espírito."
